ObserveR RAMAN Analyzer Introduction

ObserveR™ is a handheld, ergonomically designed medium range stand-off Raman system for the identification of explosives, chemicals, toxic industrial chemicals (TICs) and toxic industrial materials (TIMs) in the chem/bio and threat detection markets. The ObserveR handheld model provides remote identification of materials from distances ranging from 0.1m to 3m via an eye-safe laser with auto-focus. The ObserveR operates for up to 4 hours of continuous use with its rechargeable battery, has on-board library matching capabilities and a high storage capacity for large libraries that are user-programmable for new entries.

Overview

The ObserveR™ LR is a long range stand-off Raman spectrometer designed to keep users at a safe distance during the identification of unknown materials. To minimize exposure, the ObserveR LR has stand-off capabilities ranging from 10 to 30m. The system uses pulsed laser and gated sensing technology for daytime operations. Intevac’s EBAPS® sensor technology is used for superior sensitivity, low power consumption and reduced payload. Materials are identified through their unique spectroscopic signatures and identification algorithms are designed to eliminate false positives and maintain a high specificity for materials. The ObserveR library is user programmable for new material library entries. Stored data is protected with a secure and removable SD card.
